Felton Common - FCL Letter of Objection to the installation of lighting for Bristol Airport on Felton Common
The Foundation for Common Land have written to object to the proposal to extend runway lighting from Bristol Airport onto Felton Common.
We consider that it is wholly inappropriate that Felton Common will be in effect subdivided by the new proposed runway lighting. Not only does this destroy the integrity of the common but will also make grazing difficult and also will have significant environmental impacts on the local biodiversity. The common is currently managed under a Higher Tier Stewardship Scheme from Defra and has been designated as a Site of Nature Conservation Interest by Natural England and contains Priority Habitats that are protected in law.
