Yorkshire Dales Sheep Health Project Report

Focusing on practical, farmer-led solutions to sheep health issues, The Yorkshire Dales Sheep Health Project was a collaboration between local vets, The Farmer Network and the Foundation for Common Land, and was funded through the "Our Upland Commons" project. A key part of the work was to identify and help control the commonly occurring parasite, sheep scab, which causes huge economic losses to the sheep industry every year. Owing to shared grazing, scab can be particularly difficult to control on common land and the project enabled discussion on the benefits of shared solutions.
